This policy describes how GentooTax handles personal information collected through gentootax.com. GentooTax is a bookkeeping and tax business for the self-employed and small businesses.

The website is operated by GentooTax. For privacy questions, or to ask about the information you sent us, use the contact form.

Information the sign-up form collects

If you sign up, the form collects:

• Your first name and last name
• Your email address
• Your phone number, if you choose to give one
• The services you select: bookkeeping, tax preparation, tax filing, or any combination of those
• Whether the work is for someone self-employed or for a small business
• A message, if you choose to write one

The form also includes a hidden field meant to catch spam. If that field is filled in, the submission can be set aside.

The form is submitted to Netlify Forms. Netlify hosts this website and stores the form submission so GentooTax can read it.

Information from visiting the site

When you request a page, the host processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you requested. That information is used to deliver the site and to keep it secure. GentooTax does not run analytics on this website.

gentootax.com is served over HTTPS. Sign-up submissions are sent to Netlify, which stores them for GentooTax to read. No method of sending or storing information is perfect. Please use an email address you can access, and avoid putting passwords or unrelated sensitive numbers in the optional message.

We will reply to the email address you put on the form.

This website describes a bookkeeping and tax service for the self-employed and small businesses. The sign-up form is for that audience. We do not aim the form at children.
